Local Governance Forum events were launched in Tripoli, with the participation of the Minister of Local Governance, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee at the House of Representatives, a group of ambassadors and representatives of 21 international donor and implementing organizations.

The organizers say the Forum aims to create a common understanding among international partners regarding decentralization and empowering municipalities, strengthening local administration on effective legal bases, and defining a common framework for coordinating international support to achieve the implementation of the roadmap approved by the Ministry of Local Governance.

The work of the forum will continue for two consecutive days, where preparation and coordination were carried out in this forum, which came under the slogan “Effective Municipalities - A Unified Libya - A Promising Future” through joint cooperation between the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Local Administration and the German Foundation for International Cooperation.

The Forum – Effective Municipalities, Unified Libya, Promising Future – is for two days, as its preparation and organization were made through joint cooperation between the General Authority of the Supreme Council for Local Administration and the German Foundation for International Cooperation.
